Many users are faced with a dilemma when choosing their make-up: do you prefer radiant, luminous and long-lasting colors from conventional cosmetics?

Beauty expert Swantje van Uehm faced the same challenge.

The brand and product manager from the cosmetics scene had to resort to conventional make-up again and again, as natural cosmetics often looked limp and sallow on her skin.

This is how the idea for NUI Cosmetics came about, which Swantje presented to investors on the VOX show “Die Höhle der Löwen”.

NUI Cosmetics is supposed to convince with red lips in "The Lion's Den".

The young entrepreneur from Berlin was always disappointed with the products from the natural cosmetics line, especially when it came to lipstick, although natural cosmetics often did well in the Stiftung Warentest.

Because with lip red, one major disadvantage of conventional natural cosmetics is particularly noticeable: most sustainable, vegan cosmetic products do not contain synthetic ingredients - and therefore do not come close to the usual properties of traditional products.

Natural lipsticks are therefore often unable to offer bright, modern colors.

NUI Cosmetics founder Swantje van Uehm discovered that conventional red lipsticks often contain carmine, the blood of scale insects.

Which lioness from DHDL joins NUI Cosmetics?

In order to further develop her products, NUI Cosmetics founder Swantje van Uehm needed 250,000 euros and offered 20 percent of her company to the lions.

Since the first episode of season 8, DHDL fans have known that beauty expert Judith Williams in particular is very enthusiastic about this topic.

In fact, Swante and Judith agreed, but Judith Williams received a full 40 instead of just 20 percent shares in NUI Cosmetics for the EUR 250.00 invested.
