The Russian air defense forces responded to the Ukrainian bombardment of the Kherson region, and destroyed dozens of missiles launched by the Ukrainian military forces on the region.
Sputnik news agency quoted the regional authorities as saying in a statement today: "In the town of Nova Kakhovka in the Kherson province, sirens were activated after a number of missiles were detected in the air. The air defense forces confronted these missiles in the air, and 10 successive explosions were heard."
The Ukrainian artillery forces also bombed the Nikitovsky and Kalininsky districts of Gorlovka, Makivka and Yakovlevka, firing 6 155 mm shells, 5 152 mm shells and 4 122 mm shells at the representative office of the Donetsk region in the Joint Control and Coordination Center for War Crimes Issues in Ukraine.
One person was killed and four others were wounded earlier as a result of a raid carried out by Kyiv regime forces on a crossing in the Kherson region.
Last Friday, the Kremlin witnessed the signing of agreements on joining new regions to the Russian Federation, after the results of the referendum in Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson, in which citizens unanimously agreed to join their lands to the Russian Federation.
