In conjunction with the (Pink Month) for the early detection of breast cancer, the activities and procedures of the national campaign to raise awareness of the importance of early detection of the disease began in the governorates of Homs and Al-Hasakah under the slogan “Your awareness is your strength,” which will continue throughout the current month.

The head of the reproductive health program in the Homs Health Directorate, Dr. Muhammad Al-Aboud, told SANA reporter that the campaign aims to spread awareness and educate about the importance of early detection of the disease, self-monitoring, and conducting a clinical examination for women interested in all the 140 health centers that provide reproductive health services. A health center throughout the province.

Al-Aboud indicated that during the campaign, a number of educational activities and seminars will be organized on the methods of self-examination, its timing, and definition of risk factors, in addition to scientific activities that highlight the developments of breast tumors and treatment methods, pointing out that health teams have been formed with the task of supervision, awareness, and health education.

On the other hand, the Al-Hasakah Health Directorate organized an awareness campaign on the importance of early detection of breast cancer in cooperation with the Al-Yamamah Syrian Association, with support from the United Nations Population Fund, and an awareness seminar in the hall of the Arab Cultural Center in Al-Hasakah.

The Director of Health, Dr. Issa Khalaf, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the awareness campaign on the importance of early detection of the disease was launched in the cities of Hasaka and Qamishli to educate people about the need for early detection, its importance in speeding up treatment, and achieving high recovery rates, especially women between the ages of 20 and 40 years. He pointed out that the campaign includes distributing awareness brochures, and holding health lectures and seminars in various parts of the governorate.

Muntaha Al-Khalifa, the director of the Safe Spaces Project for Women and Girls at the Syrian Al-Yamamah Association, pointed out the importance of health awareness related to early detection because of its role in saving the patient's life.

In the city of Qamishli, the Al-Hasakah Health Directorate, in cooperation with the Syrian Cancer Society, held an awareness-raising event today on the importance of early detection of breast cancer in the eastern health center in the Al-Arbawiya neighborhood in Qamishli. The equipment used, the importance of exercise, and healthy food rich in fiber to increase the body’s immunity.

Ismail stressed the importance of self-examination to ensure the safety of women and girls from the presence of cancerous masses that may turn into an advanced stage of the disease without the woman’s knowledge, which increases the difficulty of treatment in case of neglect.

Both women Linda Suleiman and Alia Al-Mohammed stressed the importance of health information regarding the disease, and early detection, because this would save the life of a woman or girl if she knew about the disease in its early stages.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Health launched a national awareness campaign on breast cancer, which coincides with the campaign implemented by the National Program for Cancer Control in Hama Governorate to investigate breast, cervical and prostate cancers.
