Unusually against the regional trend, unemployment in the district of Miesbach developed in September: While it remained stable or even fell elsewhere, the rate in the district rose by 0.4 points to 2.5 percent.

According to the Employment Agency, this is probably due to the Ukrainians who have fled and who (can) receive basic security since June 1st.

In any case, the increase in unemployment can be fully explained by people who are cared for by the district as the opting municipality.

"There may be delays in collecting the data here," the agency said in its labor market report.

231 more unemployed than in the previous month are registered at the job center, 669 were there on the reporting date.

The assumption is supported by the number of foreigners registered as unemployed.

This increased by 242 to 534 in September.

Together with the people cared for by the agency itself (28 fewer than in the previous month), 1,376 people in the Miesbach district were registered as unemployed in September.

The rate has approached that of the entire district (2.7).

It is lowest in Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen (2.1), highest in the city of Rosenheim (4.4).

But: For the first time this year, the rate in the entire district, which also includes the district of Rosenheim (2.6), is higher than in the same month last year (plus 0.2).

It is unchanged compared to August.

Nevertheless, Michael Schankweiter, CEO of the agency, is in good spirits: “Despite the rising energy prices and the economic and political uncertainties, the labor market in our region is sending positive signals.

This is shown, among other things, by the fact that in September, 930 more people signed off from work (plus 210) than in the previous month the corresponding evaluation.
