Because of the bad weather, the rush of visitors to the 16th "Tölzer Herbstzauber" only picked up speed on Monday.

The exhibitors don't let that spoil their mood.

Bad Tölz

– What is good for nature is not necessarily conducive to an open-air sales exhibition.

The “Tölz Autumn Magic” weekend was pretty badly affected by the rain.

The rainfall was particularly heavy on Saturday and Sunday, which meant that the number of visitors in the Kurpark was fairly limited.

The friendly Monday was more inviting, which staged the autumn magic in its 16th edition and its range of topics garden and crafts, art, culture and enjoyment after a two-year Corona break and still attracted some market lovers.

"Autumn magic" in Bad Tölz: "Certainly not reached record numbers"

"Today we are all happy," said organizer Michaela Dorfmeister on Monday.

"We certainly didn't hit record numbers overall, but that's not our goal either," she said.

“It is important that the exhibitors and the guests are satisfied, as far as the weather permits.

We cannot change the weather.” A more precise assessment is not yet possible.

Despite the inhospitable external circumstances, the exhibitors were also in a forgiving mood on Sunday.

"Anyone who often takes part in markets knows that the conditions are not always ideal and that you have to come to terms with that," said Anna Angermaier from the nursery of the same name in Bad Feilnbach.

The bad weather forecast was a bit exaggerated, so some people probably decided from the start not to leave the house.

Angermaier's range includes home-grown flower bulbs, which produce the first splendor of flowers after the winter.

"Our customers are happy to take them because we have the bulbs available individually depending on the variety and color you want," says the gardening expert.

It's a wonderful market here, it fits perfectly into this spa park and is well organised.

Exhibitor Klaus Hübner

Your professional colleague Eugen Schleipfer from Neusäß near Augsburg generally believes that the citizens no longer want to spend so much money in the current economic situation.

"Business was good up until August, so there was probably a certain amount of catching up to do after the Corona period," he stated.

"But demand has been falling since September."

A little further along the stands, the colorful range of woolen hats with exchangeable bobbles attracted a great deal of interest – especially among women.

Pom-pom vendor Klaus Hübner from the Frankfurt area was at the “Tölzer Herbstzauber” for the first time, as was his neighbors with their range of embroidered pillowcases and towels.

"It's a wonderful market here, it fits perfectly into this spa park and is well organised," was Hübner's verdict.

The colorful floral or spotted rubber boots made of natural rubber and the rain jackets by Andrea and Richard Höger from Raubling seemed to match the weather perfectly.

Tölzer Rosenbusserl soap as a souvenir from “Autumn Magic”

The dancing couples of the renaissance group "Vivunto saltatores", which has been involved for many years, did not spoil their mood. They performed outdoors despite the wet conditions and were happy about the applause of the spectators.

Undeterred, a small group of women from Leipzig, who were in Tölz for a class reunion, strolled through the grounds.

It is a nice atmosphere here, the dealers are discreet and not pushy, the women were quite impressed.

They wanted to take Tölzer Rosenbusserl soap and body butter home with them as souvenirs.

Another guest looking for hardy plants regretted that the number of participating nurseries was dwindling.

Under the given circumstances, an exhibitor place in the sales tent was a certain advantage, which Hubert Schwaighofer from Achmühl, for example, appreciated with his handsome decorative creations made of waste wood.

The regular cast inside the Kurhaus includes Gabi Huber from Tölzer with homemade costume jewelry.

For the first time she presented an interesting selection of hat pins in the form of guild symbols, musical instruments and similar symbols.

"Now the men are also stopping in front of my window display," said Huber with a grin and added mischievously: "That gives the women more time to take a closer look at the rest of the collection."

By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Bad Tölz newsletter.
