Iranian Cinema Days continues its activities for the second day in a row, with the screening of the films “Piece of Sugar” and “The Medium”, at the Drama Theater at Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts in Damascus.
The beginning was with “Piece of Sugar”, an Iranian drama film produced in 2011 directed by Seyed Reza Mir Karimi, which highlights the traditional environment of the Iranian family.
The film focuses on the issue of women's freedom, by dealing with the story of the youngest daughter of a family consisting of three daughters, "Basandadeh", who finds herself forced to marry a man she does not love, but the sudden death of the uncle, suffocating when eating a piece of sugar, turns that ceremony into a funeral, and puts This ends the marital relationship that has not started yet.
The film was filmed in the central Iranian province of Yazd, and premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2011.
And then the movie “The Mediterranean” was shown, which takes place between Iran and Syria, written by Saber Allah Dadian, directed by Hadi Hajtamand, who produced himself.
It is a film with a social content, shedding light on the water crisis in the region and tells the story of a turbulent love and the life of a married couple involved in various problems and adventures.
The film is co-starring with Maharawa Sharifi Nia, Poriya Pour Serkh, Behrang Alawi, Qassem Zarei and others.
It is noteworthy that the Iranian cinema days, which coincide with the launch of the Iranian Cultural Week, which is organized by the Iranian Cultural Chancellery in Syria in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, will continue until tomorrow, Tuesday, when the films “Painting Basin” and “Angels Come Together” will be shown.
