The four defendants are Tang Jianbang (31 years old, truck driver), Yu Wei Lun (27 years old), Zheng Xueming (25 years old, unemployed) and Wang Haoyun (17 years old).
The second to fourth defendants pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful assembly and one count of wounding with intent.
The charge alleges that on May 24, 2020, they unlawfully assembled in the vicinity of Leighton Road and Caroline Hill Road, Causeway Bay, and together with other unidentified persons, with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Chen Ziqian, unlawfully and maliciously injuring him .
The second defendant was also charged with one count of possession of an offensive weapon or instrument suitable for unlawful use.
The charge alleges that on June 30, 2020, he possessed a telescopic stick at a unit in Tsui Wan Estate, Chai Wan, Hong Kong.
He denies the crime, which remains on the court file and will not be prosecuted.
