About 1,700 people died due to floods in Pakistan

The National Disaster Management Authority of Pakistan announced that the death toll from monsoon rains and floods this season, since mid-June, has risen to about 1,695, and 12,865 others have been injured.

And the Russian Sputnik news agency quoted the authority as saying in a statement today: “630 children and 340 women are among those who lost their lives in separate incidents related to rain or floods in the country,” noting that the province of Sindh

The southern regions of the country were the most affected, with 759 deaths, followed by the southwestern provinces of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the northwest, with 336 and 307 deaths, respectively.

According to the report, the floods also led to the destruction of 20,45349 homes and the death of 1,162,122 head of livestock, in different parts of Pakistan, and also affected about 3,3046329 people, 84 districts and damaged 13,254.49 kilometers of long roads and 440 bridges throughout the season.

Rescue and relief operations by the National Disaster Management Authority and other government organisations, volunteers and NGOs were underway in the flood-affected area.
