At least one man has died in a shooting on Sunday afternoon at the Andares shopping center, in the municipality of Zapopan (State of Jalisco).
The shooting began around 5:20 p.m. when a group of trucks stopped in front of the building and began shooting at other cars, as recorded in videos that have been broadcast on social networks.
In them, several men dressed in black and hooded with assault rifles can be seen firing in different directions.
The attack has unleashed panic among visitors to the shopping center, located in the Puerta de Hierro area, on a day when attendance at the venue is considerable.
The shots are heard intensely in all the recordings of the event.
The Jalisco Prosecutor's Office has reported that it is investigating the origin of the attack.
Zapopan police have confirmed to local media that six people — all civilians — have been injured in the shooting.
The police report indicates that the man who died in the shooting was a bodyguard aboard an escort car with plates from Mexico City.
It also indicates that when the shooting occurred, some members of the Army were near the shopping center.
