Wolfratshausen – Because of savings, the city council postponed a subsidy for the neighborhood aid association “Citizens for Citizens” at the beginning of the year.

Now the culture committee agreed on a payment.

That year, the association created a full-time position for the new senior caregiver Agnes Seiffarth.

To finance them and other offers of help, a municipal subsidy of 50,000 to 70,000 euros would have been necessary.

A compromise was reached, which provoked a controversial debate.

Neighborhood aid association “Citizens for Citizens” gets 100 euros per event

Martin Melf, head of the town hall department for education and social affairs, developed the subsidy model.

Accordingly, the city finances the activities of the association with a flat rate of 100 euros per event.

The prerequisite is the provision of proof of use as well as evidence of the events that actually took place.

The agreement concluded for a period of two years is always extended by a further year if it is not terminated by July 1st.

"The city buys in performance: With a maximum of 300 events a year, 30,000 euros can flow," calculated Annette Heinloth (Greens).

The Third Mayor Heinloth chaired the meeting on behalf of Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner and referred to the goals of the BfB senior citizen program.

This includes, above all, making social contacts and maintaining physical and mental activity.

"Upon request, senior citizens with impairments can be picked up from home and then brought back home," concluded Heinloth.

Manfred Fleischer (Wolfratshauser Liste) praised the work of the neighborhood help.

"According to this agreement, however, other clubs could also approach the city in order to benefit from funding," he pointed out.

As examples, he named the AWO, the VdK and sports clubs, which are also committed to seniors.

Manfred Menke (SPD) sees it similarly and also fears a “high organizational effort for the city administration”.

Seniors' representative Ulrike Krischke then made a plea for the necessity of work with seniors.

"That's a great treasure we have in town," she praised.

Even the district clinic now refers patients to “citizens for citizens” for follow-up care.

The former BfB chairman Peter Lobenstein (Greens) considers the municipal agreement to be overdue.

"The limit has been reached that it can no longer be done on the side," he explained.

Many helpers would have to be educated and trained.

Patrick Lechner from the SPD/FDP parliamentary group warned of a "bureaucratic monster" and suggested a "points system".

But in the end, like Fleischer, he voted for the model.

Manfred Menke refused his consent.
