Filling up seems to be getting trickier and trickier.
While a strike blocks six of the eight refineries of TotalEnergies and some of Esso ExxonMobil, motorists have been unable, for several days, to refuel at the pump.
And have to go and get supplies from supermarkets, popular and therefore emptied.
At the origin of this social movement, a dissatisfaction carried by the CGT on the question of wages.
If several employees want a 10% increase over the year 2022, the management, which has already granted 3.5% since the start of the year, sends the file back to negotiations in mid-November.

The strike continued on Monday, in particular at the refinery near Le Havre, representing 22% of refining capacity in the territory, and which is
"at a standstill",
according to the CGT.
If shortages affect several regions of France, in particular the North, Normandy, or even Provence, specialists explain the phenomenon by another reason than the current blockages.
The drop of 18 cents per liter set up by Total in addition to the 30 provided for in the law on purchasing power would have prompted motorists to go to this distributor.
Which would have further reduced supplies.

Since September 1, we have encountered a significant influx within our network of stations, 30% higher than normal.

"There is no need to rush to the station because the price reduction offered in our stations (that of 10 cents from November 1, editor's note) is effective until the end of the year",
tries to soothe TotalEnergies.

We have refineries shut down, but the 200 depots in France are still filled and supplied,
explained Francis Pousse, national president of the fuel and new energy distributor branch of the Mobilians union on Monday on RMC.
In addition, we have in France, as in all the countries of Europe, what we call strategic stocks which represent 90 days of stocks intended to respond to a serious crisis.
These strategic stocks can be, on government orders, used to fill depots where there is a lack of fuel, so today there is no risk of a shortage.
