Hohenpeissenberg

– The B 472 near Hohenpeissenberg resembled a field of rubble on Sunday evening.

According to the police, a 41-year-old from Schongau was traveling in the direction of Weilheim during a heavy rain shower when he overtook a bus and a Toyota with his BMW in the two-lane area.

When changing to the right lane, he lost control due to aquaplaning, came onto the shoulder and was lifted out by the crash barrier, causing him to roll over on the embankment.

From there he was thrown back onto the roadway.

The Toyota driver, a 66-year-old from Peißenberg, made an emergency stop, causing the bus behind her to rush into the rear.

Despite this, the Toyota driver was able to steer her car past the wrecked BMW, and the bus came to a stop immediately in front of the BMW.

The BMW driver got away with minor injuries and was released at his own request without medical help, the Toyota driver also came to Weilheim hospital with minor injuries.

The bus driver from Weilheim (61) was unharmed.

Accident also in oncoming traffic

Shortly after the accident, another accident occurred because of the debris field in the opposite lane.

An 18-year-old from Weilheim braked hard in his Mercedes to drive through the accident site, whereupon an 18-year-old from Altenstadt drove into the rear of him with her VW at undiminished speed.

The driver and passenger in the Mercedes were slightly injured, as were two passengers in the VW – a pregnant 20-year-old and an 18-year-old were taken to the Murnau accident clinic by ambulance to be on the safe side.

All five vehicles had to be towed away, the damage is estimated at 37,000 euros.

The Hohenpeissenberg bypass was completely closed for around two and a half hours, with 50 firefighters from Hohenpeissenberg and Peißenberg on duty.
