In Planegg, they want to light up Bahnhofstrasse for Christmas this year too.
The additional consumption is low, according to the town hall.

Before Christmas it will remain darker than usual in Neuried and Gauting this year.
Other municipalities in the Würmtal do not plan to save on the festive lighting.
Würmtal
– In view of the energy crisis caused by the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the German Environmental Aid suggests doing without the Christmas lights this year.
Krailling seems to comply with this wish.
There will be no festive street lighting in the commune.
In fact, the municipality declared its waiver a year ago.
For cost reasons, Krailling didn't even get Christmas lights for its streets.
"The only lighting is our Christmas tree on the former maypole meadow, which is illuminated with LEDs, as is the tree in the town hall," explains the spokesman for the community, Alexander Broschell.
It should stay that way this year.
Christmas trees illuminated with a timer solution
Other communities in the Würmtal have more savings potential.
Gauting wants to make the most of this.
On Thursday, the environment, energy and transport committee decided "that there will be no street lighting in Gauting this year to save energy," said the spokesman for the municipality, Andreas Röming.
However, the people of Gautingen do not have to do without festive lights.
"The Christmas trees in the community should be illuminated, but with a timer solution."
In Neuried, too, it will be darker than usual during Advent and Christmas this year.
"At the moment it looks like only a Christmas tree and the trees on the market square will be lit, but there will be no Christmas lights on the street lamps," says spokeswoman Inke Franzen.
Switched to LEDs as far as possible
As usual, Gräfelfing and Planegg are using lights this year to put their citizens in a festive mood.
"We will most likely not do without Christmas lights," says the manager of the Planegg municipality, Stefan Schaudig.
It has already been largely converted to energy-saving LEDs and is mainly powered by street lighting.
"This means that some of the street lighting is reduced in these sections and the Christmas lights are fed with the freed-up electricity capacity."
“Therefore, the streetlights will be on as they are, with or without intervening Christmas lights.
In Gräfelfing, things will remain as usual for the time being.
"We bought the Christmas lights relatively new, everything runs with LEDs, I think that's justifiable," says Mayor Peter Köstler.
There had been long discussions in Gräfelfing because only part of the Bahnhofstrasse had previously been illuminated.
After all, the community made sure that the entire Bahnhofstrasse benefited from the lighting.
"I gather from this discussion that people really like it," says Köstler.
"I would say we can do that."
