Defense Minister Benny Gantz today (Monday) ended an official visit to Azerbaijan that dealt with political and security issues, and deepening cooperation between the countries.
As part of the visit, the Minister of Defense met with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, was received with a guard of honor at the Ministry of Defense and met with the Minister of Defense General Zakir Hasanov, and visited the headquarters of the Border Guard of Azerbaijan in the hospitality of the head of the Border Guard, General Elchin Guliev.

Gantz wanted to emphasize in his visit the importance of the strategic relations between Israel and Azerbaijan, as well as the need to continue working for peace and stability in the world and in the region.
The Minister of Defense presented the changes in the Middle East following the Abraham Accords, and also discussed with the partners the progress of relations between Israel and Turkey and between other partners in the region and around the world.
The delegation of the Minister of Defense was joined by: Director General of the Ministry of Defense Lt. Col. Amir Eshel, Head of the Security-Political Division in the Ministry of Defense Dror Shalom and the Military Secretary to the Minister of Defense Brigadier General Yaki Dolf.
