Partial legislative in the Yvelines: in Versailles, Reconquest is gaining strength

2022-10-03T14:07:29.440Z

Éric Zemmour's party gained three points this Sunday compared to the first round of the June election across the entire constituency.

The trend is confirmed.

Reconquest does have a hard core at Versailles.

At the end of this first round of the partial legislative election in the 2nd district of Yvelines, the far-right party is strengthening its achievements.

With an overall score of 11.07%, candidate Laurence Trochu is in fourth position in the ballot.

But in the royal city, she obtained 737 votes and positioned herself as the main opponent of the outgoing deputy minister, Jean-Noël Barrot (MoDem), who recorded 1,371 ballots in his favor.

“It shows that Reconquest is still capable of mobilizing, comments Laurence Trochu.

It's the right that the people of Versailles want, that's very clear.

"Candidate for the 1st constituency in June, she finally took over the... 2nd in place of her counterpart Céline Jullié "who could not lead this campaign off the cuff in September, for family reasons".

And despite an abstention rate which reached 73.33% this Sunday, the supporters of his camp were present at the polls.

"It is the electorate of Reconquest who mobilized the most, we have a very solid militant base in Versailles", analyzes Laurence Trochu.

The President of the conservative movement Sens Commun, departmental councilor and municipal councilor of Guyancourt, had received the support of Marion Maréchal and Éric Zemmour, who went to a café in Versailles last week.

Pascal Thévenot (LR) "refused the union of the right" according to Laurence Trochu

In the LR camp, Pascal Thévenot (mayor of Vélizy-Villacoublay) accuses him of having "divided the votes of the right", which caused him to lose in the first round, with 180 votes compared to Maïté Carrive- Bedouani (Nupes).

But Laurence Trochu denies it.

“I made him the proposal of the union of the right which he refused, she explains.

Until LR agrees to work with a more conservative line, they won't get away with it.

At Versailles Pascal Thévenot comes far behind (529 votes), whereas with an alternate Reconquest, he would have gone to the second round.

Be that as it may, Eric Zemmour's party has not said its last word.

Even before the statement of the results this Sunday, the activists of the 2nd district had already all met to talk about the rest.

"Everyone left in a spirit of resistance to the government," concludes Laurence Trochu.

The voice we carry is carried by no one else.
