The Wolfratshausen senior citizens' representation evaluates survey results from the district office: There is still a lot to do.

Wolfratshausen – In 2040, a third of the district's population will be over 60 years old.

Reason enough for the district office to question the citizens of the individual towns and communities and to develop a concept.

The results obtained in Wolfratshausen were presented by the city council's senior citizen officer, Dr.

Ulrike Krischke, now in a public meeting of the senior citizens' representation in the town hall.

"Many are not even aware of the help that is available," stated Krischke.

This is also due to the fact that the use of digital media among older people still has room for improvement.

Some Wolfratshausers even do without a mobile phone altogether.

23.7 percent of the seniors surveyed stated that they did not use the Internet.

It would be very helpful to call up the website www.seniorenkompass.net created by the district office to find out about all the services.

According to the results of the survey, almost 89 percent of those over 60 are largely satisfied with their living situation in the rafting town.

Nevertheless, some wishes remain unfulfilled.

In the Waldram district in particular, benches are missing, for example to be able to take a break after shopping on foot.

According to 18.1 percent of the senior citizens surveyed, the number of publicly accessible toilets could also be higher.

The demand is particularly high in supermarkets.

What Wolfratshausen seniors want: Committee is looking for potential for improvement

Should seniors find themselves in the situation of no longer being able to live alone, almost a third would prefer to move to a so-called care apartment.

These are small residential units in which the residents are cared for by an outpatient nursing service or a day care center.

After all, 25.2 percent could imagine that a 24-hour available caregiver lived at their home from time to time.

The Wolfratshausen senior citizen representation is now considering taking action based on the survey results.

Krischke announced that he would submit an application for the installation of more benches and the installation of public toilets in one of the next city council meetings.

Eva-Maria Rühling, chairwoman of the neighborhood help association “Citizens for Citizens”, welcomed this idea.

"There are certainly many companies and companies as sponsors of the benches," she explained.

Wishing Tree action is repeated

At the end of the meeting, the city's senior citizens' representative, Sibylle Gruber, announced that the successful wishing tree campaign would be continued.

This year's senior Christmas is planned for Wednesday, December 14th.

In addition, there will be a singspiel for the first time at the senior strong beer festival next spring.

There are even plans to set up a marquee for the “Tanz in den Mai” (“Dance into May”) that follows.

So there is a lot to do for Gruber, who is currently fully engaged as a pension and social advisor in the town hall.

A part-time position advertised by the city in this department has not yet been filled.
