Storm and continuous rain are moving south across the Free State.

There is therefore a current severe weather warning at the edge of the Alps.

Otherwise the weather is worthy of warning and uncomfortable in the Free State.

Update, Sunday, October 2nd

: The severe weather warning from the German Weather Service will remain in place until Monday morning (10 a.m.).

There is also a warning of heavy continuous rain on the edge of the Alps (see below for a list of affected regions).

Severe weather warning in Bavaria: Slight flooding expected on the edge of the Alps and near Bamberg

The flood news service Bavaria (HND) has meanwhile corrected its level forecasts slightly upwards.

Accordingly, there can be slight flooding on the banks of the Iller, especially in the district of Oberallgäu and in the city of Kempten.

Water bodies can also burst their banks in the city and district of Bamberg.

The HND verbatim:

“The levels will rise more sharply today with the passage of the next front, especially in those areas where intensive precipitation already fell yesterday.

The Iller catchment area is particularly affected, but also isolated levels in the rain catchment area and in Franconia, as well as on the edge of the Alps.”

Weather warning of gusts of wind in the Alps and low mountain ranges in Bavaria

Landslides could also occur.

A strong south-west wind will blow.

At high altitudes, especially in the Alps and in the Bavarian Forest, gusts of wind of up to 100 km/h are possible.

But also in parts of Franconia and in the foothills of the Alps there are gusts with wind speeds between 55 and 75 km/h.

The unfriendly weather will stay with us until at least Tuesday.

Only then does a surprising turn in the weather follow with almost summery temperatures in Bavaria.
