Wildflecken/Frankfurt – An explosive incident occurred at the Bundeswehr military training area near Wildflecken in Lower Franconia: in the night from Friday to Saturday (October 1st), suspicious drones flew over the area near the border with Hesse.

According to the report, the Ministry of Defense has not yet commented on whether the overflights are an espionage operation by the Russian secret services.
The overflights have been registered, it is said.

The military counter-intelligence service noticed suspicious vehicles in the vicinity of the Bundeswehr bases in Idar-Oberstein in Rhineland-Palatinate and Grafenwoehr in Bavaria, from which the access roads to the barracks were probably observed.
In Idar-Oberstein, the Bundeswehr trained Ukrainian soldiers on the Panzerhaubitze 2000, in Grafenwoehr Americans and Ukrainians trained on western artillery systems.
