Two sailing accidents occurred on Lake Starnberg on Sunday.
The surrounding water rescue services were able to reliably save sailors and boats.
Starnberg – Because of two sailing accidents on Lake Starnberg, a large contingent of rescuers had to be deployed on Sunday (October 2nd): Around noon, two boats capsized independently of each other.
The surrounding lifeguards rescued the crew and had to tow the overturned boats.
However, one of the two rescue operations turned out to be difficult.
Sailing boat capsizes: the Tutzing and Ammerland water rescue services save the crew
"Around 12:50 p.m., the integrated control center alerted the water rescuers because of a sailing boat that had capsized southeast of Rose Island," wrote the district water rescue service in Starnberg in a statement.
The two crew members fell overboard when their boat capsized.
The lifeguards Tutzing and Ammerland, who arrived first, brought the skipper and his crew on board, where they were looked after by helpers.
"The two were soaked, but due to the rapid deployment of the water rescue service, further care by the land rescue service was not necessary," it said.
The rescue of the sailboat turned out to be more difficult.

The volunteers were only able to right the boat after several attempts.
However, it was so full that with every wave more water sloshed into the boat.
This made it unstable and it tipped sideways several times.
Finally, the lifeguards clamped the ship between two rescue boats to stabilize it and dismantle the mast.
Ultimately, the lifeguards were able to pump out the boat.
The volunteers from the Tutzing water rescue service towed it to its home yacht club.
In addition to the water rescue services in Tutzing, Ammerland and Feldafing, the Starnberg water police were also on duty.

At the same time, according to the district water rescue service, another accident occurred.
At around 1:45 p.m., the control center received another report about a capsized sailing boat.
"About 500 meters before Niederpöcking, the skipper was standing on the hull of his completely capsized sailing boat," writes the district water rescue service.
The rescue was easier here: the Feldafing water rescue service was able to right the boat, which was then towed into the marina with the sailor's club motorboat.
