For more than 45 years, entrepreneur Wolfgang Grupp has made it a point that the passenger seat in his company car faces backwards.

He also insisted on this detail in his new Mercedes EQS.

Burladingen/Pfronstetten - Trigema boss Wolfgang Grupp not only focuses on sustainability in terms of production.

As far as his own mobility is concerned, he has now opted for a model that is considered environmentally friendly: the Mercedes EQS.

One detail must not be missing: the entrepreneur is used to the passenger seat facing backwards.

Since the special request is not part of the standard equipment of an EQS, Grupp had it implemented by the conversion specialist Paravan in Pfronstetten, as BW24 reports.

As Grupp explains when picking up the vehicle, the seat configuration allows him to stretch out his legs comfortably on long journeys.

It also improves forward visibility and makes it easier to talk to the driver.

"If you've been used to it for 30 or 40 years, you obviously don't want to take a step back," says Grupp.

Wolfgang Grupp: Conversion of his new Mercedes EQS took 14 days

The search for a specialist for the conversion was apparently not as easy as expected.

Grupp then struck gold in Pfronstetten-Aichelau.

"For the Paravan factory, helping the neighbors was a matter of honor," say the conversion specialists.

It took them 14 days to implement the special seat configuration in the Mercedes EQS.

"When converting vehicles for people with disabilities, it is part of our daily routine to respond to the very individual requirements of our customers," explains Kevin Arnold from Paravan GmbH.

"And what doesn't exist yet, we invent!

That's why we didn't hesitate for a second when Mr. Grupp contacted us!

We are proud to be able to make mobility that little bit more comfortable for such an entrepreneurial personality.”

Mercedes EQS popular company car: Kretschmann and Baerbock also swear by it

In addition to Wolfgang Grupp, many politicians also swear by the EQS as their company car.

Baden-Württemberg's Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) is also banking on the all-electric sedan and, according to his own statements, considers it a "super car".

The German Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock, has also opted for an EQS as her company car.
