Ghislaine Maxwell has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for assisting in the sexual abuse of minors.

According to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman's book Confidence Man, former US President Donald Trump was interested in the contexts in which Maxwell had mentioned him during his second term campaign.

Maxwell was considered the right hand of Jeffrey Epstein, a sex offender who was networked to the highest circles.

First the "Guardian" had reported.

The background to the concern was an article in the New York Post of July 5, 2020, in which a business partner of Epstein stated that Maxwell had wrongly assumed that she was unassailable due to her connections in the highest circles.

Trump's name was also mentioned in this context.

According to Haberman, the then US President subsequently asked his campaign advisers, "Did you see the article in the Post today that mentions me?" said?"

Trump was friends with Epstein in previous years and has in turn been accused of sexual harassment, misconduct or assault by more than 20 women.

Author E. Jean Carroll publicly raised allegations of rape against Trump three years ago.

A new law now allows her to take legal action against the ex-president despite the statute of limitations.

Haberman also quotes former Trump adviser Sam Nunberg in the book, according to whom Trump, when asked what worries him most about his run for the US presidency, replied: "the women."

"Not business, not his brutality towards people," Nunberg said, but women.

Epstein was initially sentenced to 13 months in prison in 2008 for sexually abusing minors and has since been listed as a sex criminal.

In July 2019, he was arrested again for allegedly abusing hundreds of underage girls and forcing them into prostitution.

The multi-millionaire known to many celebrities was found dead in a New York jail cell, according to an autopsy Epstein committed suicide.

There was therefore never a process for the new allegations against him.
