Warda Al-Youssef, one of the workers, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the production of pomegranate molasses is seasonal, starting at the end of September and continuing until the beginning of October of Each year, reviewing the stages of its manufacture, since it was imported from an orchard, through washing, sifting, squeezing, purifying it from seeds and impurities, and boiling it over a low heat.

The project worker, Laila Moussa, explained that she and her fellow workers are keen to benefit not only from the fruits of the pomegranate by producing molasses, but also to exploit and dry the pomegranate peels, and grind them for medicinal purposes, as well as preparing the seeds that are used in several food industries, which achieves a good economic feasibility for the project and those in charge of it.

Head of the Guidance Unit in Rabu Batool Nasr, in turn, stated that the project to manufacture pomegranate molasses in Guidiya achieved a rewarding material income for its workers, especially since the village is famous for the cultivation and production of pomegranate on a large scale, and therefore the raw material is abundant and abundant, in addition to the experience and skill of the women of the village in this field. The traditional profession, and the sale of the product is done by selling directly from the unit or through the market for selling the products of rural women in Masyaf.

The head of the Agricultural Association in Rab’ou, Yassin Ali, spoke about the contribution of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) by providing the manufacturing unit, while a farmer sponsored the sale of the production of his pomegranate orchard for the project to support it in the continuity of its work.

The owner of the pomegranate orchard Hussein Youssef indicated that in order to support the efforts of the women working in the project and to ensure the continuation of the production of pomegranate molasses, he is keen to supply his entire crop to the project, despite the possibility of selling it at a higher price in the market, pointing out that he also harvests the pomegranate fruits and ships them at his expense to the headquarters of the extension unit somewhere. The project.
