A 16-year-old minor was arrested on Tuesday as the alleged perpetrator of the fatal stabbing of another 19-year-old in Algeciras.
The events occurred during the night of yesterday and have led to altercations during the early morning, both in the area of the event, the neighborhood of La Piñera, and in the vicinity of the Punta Europa hospital, where the victim was transferred.
The first police hypothesis is that the attack occurred during a brawl for reasons that have not yet transpired.
The fight took place at 9:50 p.m. on Monday.
The 112 Emergency Services received a call alerting the brawl in an area near the Church of the Holy Spirit in Algeciras.
The victim was transferred to the Punta Europa hospital in the same town, where she ended up dying, according to a statement released by the Cadiz National Police this Tuesday morning.
Relatives and relatives of the deceased, close to a clan known in the area as Los Maya, went to the vicinity of the center.
After the death there have been various disturbances, both in the vicinity of the emergency room of the health center, and in Adaja, Odiel, Segre and Eresma streets, in the Piñera neighborhood, which have forced the deployment of troops from the Police Station from Algeciras.
The altercations have lasted until 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the police.

The neighborhood in which the stabbing took place, La Piñera, is an area where people in a situation of social exclusion live, in addition to being a hot spot for drug dealing in which altercations and brawls have already taken place in other occasions.
On September 15, two bursts of gunfire, produced around 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., frightened the residents of Gesto por la Paz avenue, also located in the same neighborhood.

La Piñera, next to the neighborhood of El Saladillo, are two areas of Algeciras hit by poverty, drugs and more or less violent altercations.
In 2016, four people were arrested in La Piñera, accused of being behind the murder of a 43-year-old man.
In 2018, the police clarified the four-day kidnapping of a drug addict man who had been turned into a "servant".
