A strong discussion was the reason why a Russian woman allegedly murdered a friend in May 2015. While traveling by car to Moscow, the alleged murderer hit her companion, burned her with gasoline and pushed her down a ravine.

Seven years later, the National Police has arrested the alleged aggressor at the door of her home in Alicante, on whom an International Arrest Order weighed.

If the Investigating Court 6 of the National High Court validates her extradition to Russia, the arrested woman will face a trial that could carry a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The search warrant does not detail the reason for the argument, which took place in the victim's apartment in the municipality of Pochinki, a rural town of about 11,000 inhabitants 600 kilometers southeast of Moscow.

After the fight, the alleged murderer proposed to her friend to travel to the Russian capital in her own vehicle, in what seemed like an apparent truce.

However, just halfway, on the outskirts of the village of Lazarevo, with just 500 inhabitants, the driver suddenly stopped her vehicle and hit the victim on the head.

After her, she pulled her out of the car, dragged her into a ravine, doused her body with gasoline, set it on fire, and sent her burning friend down the mountain.

After the crime, the alleged author vanished.

After an unsuccessful search by investigators, Russia issued an arrest warrant last July.

On September 5, the Interpol Central Office contacted the group of Fugitives from the General Judicial Police Station in Madrid to inform them that the suspect could be found in the province of Alicante, for which they took charge of investigations by the Organized Crime group (Udyco) from the Alicante police station.

For two weeks, the agents followed the trail of the Russian fugitive, who is currently 40 years old and who was finally located in a house located in Alicante, without revealing how she was identified.

"Generally, they are found because they enroll a child in a school or because they make payments with a credit card in her name," police sources explain.

On September 19, the agents established a device at the exit of the building in which the alleged murderer lived and arrested her as soon as she stepped onto the street, at eight in the morning.

After her arrest, she was placed at the disposal of the National High Court, which must determine her transfer to her country of origin, where the trial that can sentence her to a maximum of 15 years in prison will take place. according to Russian law.
