The pressure is mounting on the Élysée, Emmanuel Macron resists.
After the dismissal of the Keeper of the Seals, Éric Dupond-Moretti, before the Court of Justice of the Republic for "
illegal taking of interests
", the opposition took up the case in the National Assembly and the Senate.
First by the voice of the socialist deputy Boris Vallaud, who, questioning the Prime Minister on the subject, recalled the words of the President of the Republic at the start of his first five-year term when he assured that a minister under investigation had to resign .
It does not matter for the opposition that this "jurisprudence" only worked with François Bayrou and the ministers of the MoDem in 2017. And again, at the time, the ephemeral Keeper of the Seals was not indicted.
It also matters little that, since then, many ministers questioned by the courts have remained in office until conviction (Alain Griset) or have obtained a dismissal order (Gérald Darmanin).
