The chairman of the FDP Oberbayern from Oberhaching will no longer stand in the new elections for the district executive board next Sunday.
District/Oberhaching – Axel Schmidt, long-time chairman of the FDP Oberbayern, will no longer stand in the new elections for the district executive board next Sunday.
The Oberhachinger informed about this in a press release.
Schmidt mainly gives “professional reasons” for his decision.
“This decision feels good.
And right,” Schmidt writes on his Facebook page, emphasizing: “I look forward to being a team member and supporting others at the top.”

His two deputies, Armin Sedlmayr from Munich and Britta Hundesrügge from Starnberg, will also no longer stand as candidates.
For the presidency, Schmidt wanted to propose a dual leadership to the party congress.
The only candidates so far are councilor Ajay Singh from Inning and the group leader in the district council, Countess Barbara Baudissin-Schmidt.
Last year, the digital expert applied in the federal elections as a direct candidate for a seat in the German Bundestag, but ended up at the bottom of the state list, which gave him little chance of success.
"Today I have to say," says Schmidt, "I'm glad about it." Working in Berlin has a number of advantages and many disadvantages.
Nevertheless, he remains true to politics: "I love politics and will always fight for equal opportunities, for saving our planet, for free enterprise, against bureaucracy and autocracy and above all for freedom."
