Contact with partner cities, especially with young people, is important.

That's what the members of the Brucker Stadtjugendrat think.

Fürstenfeldbruck – Upon request, four of them were invited to the Croatian sister city of Zadar.

There they presented their work as youth representatives in conversation with the mayor.

But the young Bruckers also took ideas back to Amperstadt.

Livry-Gargan, Cerveteri, Wichita Falls, Almunécar and Zadar - these are the names of Fürstenfeldbruck's partner cities.

The City Youth Council (SJR) found that there was little contact with the Croatian city - mainly due to Corona.

That's why SJR member and deputy chairman Valentin Eckmann contacted the mayor of Zadar a few months ago.

With success: Four SJR members were invited to Croatia.

"It was a complete success," says Korbinian Butterer, chairman of the city youth council, about the four-day stay.

In the town hall of Zadar, the four young people from Brucker – in addition to Butterer, Valentin and Fabian Eckmann as well as Loi Rothenberger – met the mayor and eight other heads of department.

City council member Andreas Rothenberger (BBV) accompanied the young people.

"We told them what a city youth council is and about our work," says 17-year-old Chairman Butterer.

(

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular

FFB newsletter.)

So far there is no SJR in Zadar, but a body that represents the interests of young people was found out in exchange with the mayor.

The committee is not - as in Bruck - elected by the younger citizens, but by city council members, explains Butterer.

The average age of the youth representatives is slightly higher than in Bruck.

That could possibly change now, reports Butterer.

The idea of the young Brucker politicians was well received by the administration of the Croatian city.

"In Zadar, a city youth council should be founded like ours," says the chairman.

Something that the four young people from Fürstenfeldbruck took with them from Croatia relates to the topic of volunteer work.

“When applying, many universities have the condition that you should have held a certain number of honorary posts,” says Butterer.

Every citizen has a book in which the respective voluntary work can be entered - no matter how long the activity lasted.

"There is also a newsletter that is sent out by e-mail asking for a helping hand," says the 17-year-old.

An idea with which the four Bruckers returned to Fürstenfeldbruck - and which they will take with them for the next SJR legislature.

choice

On October 16, a new committee of eleven young people between the ages of 14 and 21 will be elected to represent Brucker Jugend 2023 and 2024.

This marks the end of Korbinian Butterer's first term as chairman.

“But I will compete again.” A lot has been achieved in the past two years.

Especially with the former Stockschützen area, now called "Amperium", the perfect solution was found to create a location for young people.

"We don't have to go to the Pucher Meer to celebrate anymore," says Butterer happily.

Basketball, volleyball and soccer fields are to be built here in the future.

Overall, the young people want to attack other points in the city - such as beautifying the transformer house - like the underpass on Dachauer Straße - with graffiti.

"But also that more rubbish bins and ashtrays will continue to be an issue," says Butterer.

Now it's all about the election, in which as many young Bruckers as possible should participate.

This

will take place on October 16th from 1pm to 6pm.

The polling stations are the youth café in the meeting house and the citizens' pavilion.
