(CNN Spanish) --

Coldplay postponed its eight concerts in Brazil due to a "severe pulmonary infection" of its vocalist, Chris Martin, the group said through Instagram.

In the statement, the band says Martin has been given "strict medical rest orders for the next three weeks."

Coldplay adds that they are sure Martin will recover and that they hope to resume touring as soon as possible.

They assure that they work to guarantee new dates for 2023.

Coldplay would start their tour on October 11 at the Nilton Santos Engenhão Olympic Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, where they had two dates.

Then they would go to Sao Paulo, where they would complete six dates at the Allianz Parque.

"For everyone in Brazil who was looking forward to these concerts, we are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience, and we are very grateful for your understanding in this difficult time in which we must prioritize Chris's health," says the group's statement.

Coldplay in Argentina

Naturally, among the followers of the British, the question arises as to what will happen to the concerts in Argentina.

The dates of their tour in Argentina are still active on the group's website, which begins on October 25 at the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires.

There they will offer ten concerts, ending the tour of Latin America on November 8.

With these dates, Coldplay surpassed the mark of 9 shows at the River Plate stadium, which was held by the co-founder of Pink Floyd, Roger Waters.

In addition, the group will broadcast the concert on October 28 in Argentina live to select movie theaters worldwide.

Those interested in joining these concerts from their countries can reserve their tickets through the ColdplayCinema.live page.
