As of 2 p.m., the highest temperature recorded at the Observatory rose to 33 degrees, breaking the record for the hottest Chung Yeung Festival set in 1959 and held for 63 years.

The Observatory said that the high-altitude anticyclone will bring sunny and hot weather to southern China today. It will be hot and dry during the day with light winds. At noon, the temperature in many parts of Hong Kong will rise to over 30 degrees.

According to the regional weather data of the Observatory, as of 13:50 pm, the Sheung Shui monitoring station recorded the highest temperature of 35.7 degrees, followed by the Dalong monitoring station with a temperature of 34.2 degrees.
