The Observatory said that the weather was hot today, and a hot weather warning was issued as early as 6 am. By noon, the temperature in many districts had risen above 30 degrees, and the Dalong monitoring station had a high temperature of 33.5 degrees.
The Observatory predicts that Hong Kong will be very hot in the afternoon.
As of 2 p.m., the highest temperature recorded at the Observatory rose to 33 degrees, breaking the record for the hottest Chung Yeung Festival set in 1959 and held for 63 years.

The Observatory said that the high-altitude anticyclone will bring sunny and hot weather to southern China today. It will be hot and dry during the day with light winds. At noon, the temperature in many parts of Hong Kong will rise to over 30 degrees.
According to the regional weather data of the Observatory, as of 13:50 pm, the Sheung Shui monitoring station recorded the highest temperature of 35.7 degrees, followed by the Dalong monitoring station with a temperature of 34.2 degrees. In Tai Sin and Tseung Kwan O, the temperature has also reached about 31 degrees.

Looking through the data, the average temperature of the Double Ninth Festival in the past 30 years has been 27.8 degrees. Except for the annual 30 degrees, it has rarely risen above 30 degrees on the Double Ninth Festival in recent years.
The Observatory recorded a high temperature of 33 degrees at 2 p.m., breaking the 63-year-old record of 32.5 degrees for the hottest Chung Yeung Festival in 1959, becoming the hottest Chung Yeung Festival on record in Hong Kong.

The Observatory expects that a northeast monsoon will reach the coast of Guangdong tomorrow, and the wind will gradually strengthen in the area.
