Intoxicated, a man from Bad Tölz in Munich grabbed an ambulance and caused several accidents with four injured.

Munich – It is not yet known whether he had previously had a drink at the Wiesn.

In any case, a man from Bad Tölz in Munich grabbed an ambulance on Sunday night and took it for a spin.

At the end of his chaos ride there was a lot of body damage and four people injured.

Now the police are looking for witnesses to the series of accidents.

38-year-old steals the ambulance from paramedics during an operation

As the Munich police write in their press release, the 38-year-old Tölzer was out and about in Milbertshofen on Anni-Albers-Strasse around 9:10 p.m.

The ambulance was parked there.

The crew was on a mission.

For the drunk, probably the invitation to borrow the car and take it for a spin.

He drove with flashing lights and siren in the direction of Schwabing and then along Leopoldstrasse towards the city centre.

That's where the first collision happened.

A 53-year-old woman stopped at the side of the road with her Golf.

She was about to let her 52-year-old passenger get out on the passenger side when the ambulance crashed into her car.

The VW was pushed into a VW T-Roc that was also parked on the right-hand side of the road.

The force of the impact pushed him into a mobile home in front of him.

Several collisions at the Petuelring junction

The crash didn't seem to bother the 38-year-old.

He continued his journey unabated.

At the Petuelring intersection, he again collided with a car – a Toyota belonging to a 27-year-old taxi driver.

The impact deflected the ambulance to the left.

He drove over the lane divider and crashed into a traffic light mast, the police continue.

Distracted from there, the RTW crashed into a BMW of a 35-year-old that was parked at the intersection.

And finally he was thrown against a traffic light pole again, until the car finally came to a standstill.

Now it was enough for Tölzer and he fled on foot.

The paramedics had meanwhile reported her car as stolen and the police had already initiated a search for it.

They were able to quickly discover the thief in nearby Leopold Park and arrest him for the time being.

He had already sought medical help himself for his minor injuries.

The two occupants of the Golf and the 27-year-old taxi driver were also slightly injured.

They were treated in a hospital.

The police confiscated the driver's license of the obviously drunk on the spot.

He now faces a charge of endangering road traffic as a result of alcohol consumption, negligent bodily harm, unauthorized removal from the scene of an accident and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The ambulance was badly damaged on the trip.

The other cars suffered only minor damage.

Overall, the police assume a sum of several tens of thousands of euros.

The Munich traffic police are investigating the case.

They call on witnesses of the chaos ride to get in touch with them.
