A man who threatened the police was shot and wounded on Monday evening in Lèves (Eure-et-Loir), the public prosecutor of Chartres Frédéric Chevallier announced on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old suspect, shot in the abdomen and an elbow, was still hospitalized early Tuesday afternoon, but his vital prognosis was not engaged, according to the magistrate.

According to the first elements, the young man had called the Chartres police station on Monday evening after setting fire to his scooter in the middle of the street.
On the spot, the police tried unsuccessfully to reason with him.
The individual then took out a knife about twenty centimeters long and walked towards the officials.
After using a "

" electric pulse pistol, the police opened fire three times, hitting the young man twice, already sentenced to four years in prison and an injunction for psychiatric care for having shot his neighbor and law enforcement in 2019.
