Bulgarian President Rumen Radev has expressed his opposition to the rapid admission of Ukraine into NATO.

The TASS news agency quoted Radev as saying in a statement: "The hostilities on the territory of Ukraine today require a discussion of its membership, within the full framework of the North Atlantic Council ... and that this does not lead to NATO countries being drawn into the war directly."

Radev stressed that "the decision on Ukraine's accession to NATO should be taken only after setting clear parameters for a peaceful solution between Russia and Ukraine, accepted by these two countries."

After signing an agreement in Moscow on the accession of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions to Russia, in late September, the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, tried to submit a request for Ukraine to join NATO quickly.

For his part, the Slovak MP in the European Parliament, President of the Republic Party Milan Ohrik, described Ukraine's request to join NATO as a "crazy demand", warning that its annexation would automatically mean that the alliance would be directly involved in a war with Russia, and thus a world war.

And Ohrik added in a position he posted on his website: "Anyone who will vote in favor of including Ukraine in NATO will practically mean his vote in favor of his country's joining the war."

Ohrik reiterated his party's strong opposition to the sanctions imposed by the West on Russia and the sending of weapons to Ukraine, because this contributes to prolonging the ongoing war, and does not contribute to stopping it.
