For the first time, the Freising Film Festival can take place where it actually belongs: in the cinema.

Here all the details.

Freising

– The Freising Film Festival is entering its fifth round.

When it all started, the city was still a “cinema-free zone”.

Then Corona came.

Now the event has finally arrived where it belongs: in the cinema, on the big screen.

First the "Independent Starfilmfest" took place for two years in the Lindenkeller, then only "online" in the Furtner and in the city library.

The fifth edition is now taking place in the CineradoPlex cinema on Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th - much to the delight of the organizers Jan Werner and Stefan Tesar.

As they explained at a press conference in the CineradoPlex in the Schlueter Halls, this is a long-awaited premiere in an ambience predestined for it.

Because finally the film-loving public in Freising has two large cinemas with the appropriate light and sound technology at their disposal.

The creators could choose from 300 submissions

Exactly the right place to get off to a flying start with the Freising Film Festival, as Tesar and Werner noticed with obvious satisfaction.

On the two days of the festival, 82 film contributions from the genres drama, thriller and comedy as well as documentation, sci-fi, horror, romance and dramedy will flicker across the screen.

According to Werner, an expert jury of eight made their selection from 300 entries this year.

Tesar explained that they are independent filmmakers across the board.

The contributions are "top in terms of content".

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

"We are happy to have finally found a suitable location," said Tesar.

Werner, who comes from Zolling, also thinks the CineradoPlex is ideal.

The Schlüterhallen are “super connected”.

If only because of the proximity to the train station and the motorway.

The organizers also like the shopping opportunities in turn.

Those interested in film could spontaneously decide to visit.

The film festival is also a stroke of luck for the two cinema operators Peter and Uli Schafft. Peter Schafft explained that they would be happy to make two of their five cinema halls available.

There shouldn't be a lack of audiences at the two film festival days, just as there shouldn't be a lack of an interesting mix of cinema-goers and festival-goers.

The block ticket is available for ten euros

There is also no lack of celebrities from the film scene, Werner pointed out the presence of the well-known actress Nina Kronjäger, who will accompany and present the short film "One of those Days".

Numerous filmmakers will also be there, the organizer promised.

Admission for a block ticket costs ten euros, the comprehensive festival pass is available for 49 euros.

The program and tickets are available in the cinema or online at www.starfilmfest.de or independentstarfilmfest.com.

In addition, flyers with the corresponding QR codes are available in downtown bars.
