Sail across the Tegernsee for free with the TegernseeCard: What previously had to be extended every two years with the Freistaat is now valid for an unlimited period.

"Incredibly beautiful," enthused Bavaria's Minister of Finance and Homeland, Albert Füracker, as he looked out at the glittering lake from the MS Tegernsee yesterday afternoon alongside shipping director Michael Grießer.

Under the impression of this "rare appointment" in one of the "most beautiful spots in Bavaria", Füracker then found consistently praising words for the occasion: the signing of the cooperation agreement between the Bavarian lake shipping company and Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH (TTT).

As reported, since 2017 guests who have a TegernseeCard have been able to use the boat trips on Lake Tegernsee for two trips a day free of charge.

So far, the contract has been extended every two years, since yesterday it has been indefinite.

The cooperation between shipping and the holiday region is "very fruitful" and a "win-win situation" for everyone, the minister stated.

At the same time, the Tal-Card promotes tourism, which is once again "on course upwards".

Since the start in 2017, more than 362,000 trips have been made with the Tal-Card, around 54,000 this year alone, Füracker knew and was sure that the region would continue to benefit from it.

On behalf of all valley colleagues present, Rottach's Mayor Christian Köck was pleased that the region now has more planning security, also with regard to competitors.

He used the opportunity to promote support for future tasks such as energy modernization, the inclusion of shipping in public transport or the idea of ship taxis.
