The weather at the weekend will be uncomfortable: storms and constant rain are sweeping across Germany.
Severe weather warnings apply to large parts of the country.

The weather will not be friendlier on Sunday either.
Storms and rain continue to prevail in large parts of Germany.
Especially in the south and southwest (but also on the North Sea) there can be isolated strong thunderstorms and heavy rain of up to 25 liters per square meter during the day.

In the Black Forest and in the Alps, sustained amounts of rain of 40 to 60 liters per square meter can be expected, in the Allgäu Alps and from the Karwendel to the Berchtesgaden Alps with amounts of up to 100 liters and more.
The temperatures rise up to 18 degrees.
In addition, moderate westerly winds are blowing, with heavy gusts of wind up to 85 kilometers and occasionally 100 kilometers an hour being possible in the mountains.
During the night on Monday, the rain retreats towards the Alps, while temperatures drop to as low as six degrees and fog forms in the southwest.
There are strong to stormy gusts (around 65 km/h) near the coast and at high altitudes.
On Monday, the day of German unity, the rain in the Alps subsides and it remains partly cloudy, partly cloudy and dry with highs of up to 19 degrees.
In addition, a weak and sometimes strong gusty wind is blowing with individual stormy gusts on the Baltic Sea coast.
The night to Tuesday shows a mixed cloudy and clear with partly dense fog.
Temperatures drop to four degrees.
Tuesday will start with patches of fog before it will be sunny for a longer period of time in some areas.

During the storm and continuous rain in Germany, an accident occurred on the A1 in Lower Saxony on Saturday afternoon, in which a total of eleven cars drove into each other.
According to the police, 24 people were injured.
Two people, a seriously injured man and a slightly injured pregnant woman, were taken to hospitals.
"All other victims are likely to have suffered minor injuries," it said.
According to the police, a driver initially lost control of his car during the heavy rain in the afternoon and left the roadway.
As a result, there was a kilometer-long traffic jam, at the end of which about half an hour later more than ten cars were involved in a pile-up.
The Autobahn was then completely blocked in the direction of Hamburg.
According to the police, the closure should last for hours.
According to the investigators, the accident caused an estimated damage of around 100,000 euros.

Weather warning of gusts of wind and continuous rain in western Germany
In some parts of Germany, weather experts are also warning of severe gusts of wind that can reach speeds of up to 90 km/h.
The west of Baden-Württemberg is affected, as well as some districts in Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as in Lower Saxony.
"In exposed locations, hurricane-force gusts of up to 105 km/h must be expected," writes the DWD.
It will also be particularly stormy in the Black Forest.
Thunderstorms with strong gusts can occur again and again in the course of Saturday and Sunday night near the North Sea.
According to the DWD, severe gusts of wind cannot be ruled out either.
The severe weather warnings apply until Monday, especially in southern Germany.
