This is the latest attempt to appease a neighborhood plagued by violence.
From this week, during the day and from October 17 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., a marauding is organized daily at La Guillotière.
The objective of the program called Line 37, in reference to the 3 and 7 arrondissements of Lyon where the district is located, is to try to get in touch with the some 150 young people
“who occupy public space and contribute to unbalancing it. , to make it less pleasant or even worrying”
, explains Mohamed Chihi, deputy mayor of Lyon in charge of security.
Supported by the Lyon association Le Mas, a multidisciplinary team - social workers, educator of the judicial protection of youth (PJJ), psychologist, doctor, nurse, mediator, coordinator... - will try to offer them medico-social support.
The goal is to encourage them to stop their consumption of substances, to help them with their administrative procedures or to direct them…
