Man pulls gun in Italian restaurant and shoots at staff

A 32-year-old man was arrested by the police in Essen.
He is said to have fired shots in an Italian restaurant.
Essen – After several outbreaks of violence in Italian restaurants, a 32-year-old man was arrested in Essen.
The suspect is said to have attacked and injured an employee at an Italian restaurant last Friday night.
He even pulled out a gun at another restaurant on Saturday and fired multiple shots at an employee.
Shortly thereafter, the police arrested the man.
The weapon was a stun gun, reports 24RHEIN.

The first incident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Friday evening (September 30).
The 32-year-old went to an Italian restaurant in Essen-Steele.
According to the police, he is said to have hit "an employee on the head with a striking tool".
The man also used tear gas on the employee.
The employee was injured and had to be treated on site by the emergency services.
The police were able to arrest the suspect on Saturday afternoon in Essen (symbol image).

On Saturday, the man is said to have gone to another Italian restaurant in Essen-Steele around 4:15 p.m.
Apparently he had previously attracted negative attention there.
According to a police spokesman, he was already banned there.
"When an employee wanted to expel him from the location, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired several shots at the employee," police said.
Here, too, he sprayed the employee with tear gas.
The employee was slightly injured.

After the shots were fired on Saturday, the man initially fled the scene of the crime, but was then seen at Rottstrasse around 4:45 p.m.
There he is said to have fired more shots on the open road.
At around 5:15 p.m., the Essen police found the suspect in his car on Germaniastrasse and arrested him for the time being.
The emergency services found a firearm in the car.
An arrest warrant was issued against the 32-year-old for dangerous bodily harm and violation of the weapons law.
The background is still unclear.
The man has been noticed several times recently, possibly because of mental problems, the police said.
