The lease of the "Mil Mill Meowfang" plant of Hong Kong's paper package beverage box recycling factory has expired, and the lease will not be renewed by the Science and Technology Park.
After attending an event today (4th), the Secretary for the Environment and Ecology, Xie Zhanhuan, said that he has provided assistance to Miaofang, such as land selection.
When asked about the government's statement last Thursday (September 29) that there will be new factories to be built, whether to replace "Miaofang", Xie Zhanhuan said that he did not want to give up Miaofang, but he believed that Miaofang was not a big company, and its ability to undertake is not very high. The new plant is a longer term plan.

Follow up with Development Bureau and Lands Department to find land
Xie Zhanhuan and the Minister of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Republic of China visited Zi Jian, a child with chronic illness, and responded to reporters' questions after the visit.
He said that he had tried his best to help Miaofang find three suitable alternative land, but "Miaofang" thought it was not suitable; some staff from the Environment Bureau also discussed with Miaofang to find suitable land, but since there was only information just now, it took time to contact the Development Bureau. and the Lands Department to follow up.

In fact, when Miaofang just started, we had already thought about how to plan in the long run. Because Miaofang itself The recycling capacity is not very large, so there were plans (to build a new recycling plant) at that time.”
There are still three years before the completion of the new factory in 2025. Xie Zhanhuan pointed out that he has found several contractors to take over this "gap period". However, these contractors have no recycling experience before, and it will take several months to go to the conversion workshop.
