At the opening of the session of questions to the government, the president of the National Assembly Yaël Braun-Pivet saluted the memory of Mahsa Amini, "
brutally arrested in the name of a supposed virtue
" and deceased.

This 22-year-old young woman was arrested on September 13 in Tehran, for "
wearing inappropriate clothes
", by the morality police responsible for enforcing the strict dress code in the Islamic Republic.
Women must cover their hair and are not allowed to wear short or tight coats or jeans with holes.
She died on September 16 in hospital.

Mahsa Amini's death has sparked a wave of protests in Iran and rallies in solidarity with Iranian women around the world.
This protest movement, the largest in Iran since that of 2019 against the rise in gasoline prices, has entered its third week and the repression has increased.
