Russia warned again today of the consequences of the continued flow of US weapons to Ukraine.
Konstantin Vorontsov, Deputy Director of Arms Control and Nuclear Proliferation Affairs of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said at the meeting of the First Committee of the United Nations General Assembly today that US arms supplies to Ukraine are pushing towards a direct military conflict between Russia and NATO.
Vorontsov stressed that the United States is increasing the supply of weapons to Ukraine, providing its army with intelligence information and ensuring the direct participation of its fighters and advisors in the crisis, which not only delays hostilities and leads to new casualties, but also brings the situation closer to the dangerous line of direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO. .
Vorontsov stressed the need to prevent such a development in events, pointing out that Russia considers that all five nuclear-weapon states maintain the obligation to assume the inadmissibility of any war between the nuclear-weapon states, which was reflected in the joint statement of the leaders of the nuclear powers last January.
