Considered by the Ministry of the Interior as a territory of "republican reconquest", this district located west of Nice is plagued by strong insecurity due to highly organized drug trafficking. This Tuesday, a teenager was also stabbed there.

Particularly violent, the images were relayed and commented on on social networks: those of the stoning of several police officers in a district of Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), Monday October 3, at the end of the afternoon.

The scene takes place around 6:30 p.m., in the Moulins district, to the west of the city, near Saint-Laurent-du-Var.

A patrol of a few police officers from the Specialized Field Squad (BST) tries to arrest a "charcoal dealer" - the name given to small drug traffickers.

But the operation does not go as planned.

Quickly, a crowd of about forty very excited individuals gathers around the police.

The latter intend to release the trafficker and are ready to do battle with the officials.

Whoever attacks a police officer should be imprisoned

Considered by the Ministry of the Interior as a territory of "

republican reconquest

", the Moulins district is plagued by great insecurity due to a highly organized drug trade.

Again on Tuesday, a 16-year-old boy, who refused, according to information from

Nice Matin

confirmed to

Le Figaro,

to be employed as a drug dealer, was stabbed in the thigh in mid- daytime.

Suffering from a superficial injury, he was transported to Lenval hospital by the emergency services.

“It is high time to look at something other than sentences corresponding to work of general interest for its individuals who attack the police,

annoys Laurent-Martin de Frémont, the departmental secretary of the police union Unit SGP in the Alpes-Maritimes.

We say it and we repeat it, anyone who attacks a police officer should be imprisoned.

Thus perhaps we will succeed in putting society right side up, in the sense of values.

Because when the police step back, to protect themselves in this case, it is the society of chaos that takes over.

On Twitter, many political figures were outraged by this new police attack.

The deputy (LR) of the Alpes-Maritimes and candidate for the presidency of the Republicans, Éric Ciotti called

“for exceptional and long-term measures.

We must help the thousands of residents of this neighborhood who can no longer take it!”

The first deputy mayor of Nice, Anthony Borré, for his part lent his support to the police

"who do not let go of anything at the Moulins in the face of the dealers"

, and to the injured police officer.
