Enthusiast companions and nostalgic treasures from different decades attracted attention on the public holiday, October 3rd, in the Tölzer Marktstrasse.

The group "Oide Hund" invited again to their classic car meeting.

Bad Tölz – The range of around 20 vehicles that were lined up in the pedestrian zone and drove rattling through the city on arrival and departure was huge.

Andreas Lichtenwald from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, for example, presented a “barn find”, as he called it.

For decades, the "Triumph", built in 1937, stood unused in a shed in Hohenpeissenberg - until Lichtenwald discovered the historic vehicle, completed it again and made it roadworthy.

"It's not that easy to get original parts or parts that at least fit," said the Garmischer.

But his efforts for the "Triumph" were successful.

"We've already driven 600 kilometers with it this year," he and his wife Birgit said proudly.

GDR engineers "you can learn something"

The moped that Johannes Detter from Bad Tölz showed had a few decades less under his belt: a “Simson” that had been built in 1988 in the GDR.

“Collecting, screwing and driving” is how the member of the host association “Oide Hund” describes his passion.

Referring to his relic from socialism, he said with a smile: "You can say a lot about the GDR - but you can learn a thing or two from their engineers."
