The Nandlstädter Hopfenfest 2022 is history - and it again had a few highlights to offer visitors.
Time to take stock.
Nandlstadt
– The 63rd Hop Festival will be remembered.
Not only because Mayor Gerhard Betz was allowed to grab a beer stick for the first time after a two-year Corona festival break.
The canceled stand concert in front of the town hall and the canceled march to the festival hall due to rain were also unique.
Speaking of rain: it had a significant impact on this year's Hop Festival.
From Thursday to Sunday there were sometimes permanent showers, only on Monday did Petrus prove to be in a holiday mood and even enriched the finale with sunshine.
At least one day there was an opportunity for families to stroll through the amusement park without getting their feet wet.
Beer and chicken at the community's expense
While the opening ceremony on Thursday saw many more visitors in the past, the hall was well filled on Friday for the senior citizens' afternoon.
Around 1,050 Nandlstadt residents over the age of 65 had been invited in advance to a pint of beer and half a chicken at community expense, and 464 took the opportunity at the end.
The two oldest visitors came from the “Am Schönblick” retirement home, namely 89-year-old Augustin Obermeier and 97-year-old Maria Striegl, to whom Mayor Gerhard Betz presented a gift basket and flowers.

There were also gifts at the "Children's Parsnip Competition".
In April, children picked up parsnip seeds from the youth club, planted them at home, and were able to bring the largest vegetables to the hops festival to be judged.
At 465 grams, the brothers Michael and Jakob Thoma had the heaviest beet.
(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)
The two party nights were also full of carrots.
While there was still a little reluctance on Saturday evening when the band Zruck zu Dir heated up the hall, on Sunday evening the hut was full at Dolce Vita: young and old got their money's worth when the five musicians presented their diverse repertoire from rock songs to to "Scandal about Rosi" and "Layla" presented with their stage show.
The highlight was the song "We drive with the bob".
The aisles of the hops hall were converted into a bobsleigh run, on which dirndls and lederhosen made contact with the ground.

The Sunday service, which Pastor Stephan Rauscher celebrated, was also well attended.
Around half of the faithful then stayed in the festival hall to follow the church blessing with the culinary delicacies from the Anthofer festival kitchen.
“Had five nice days”
The lunch table on Monday and the stand concert in front of the parish church with brass band music from Hohenkammer and Zolling and the sounds of the Goasslschnalzer whips from Pfaffenhofen also attracted a large number of visitors.
A club Olympics on Monday evening rounded off the festival.
The summary of the second mayor Rainer Klier as chairman of the festival committee was extremely satisfactory: "We had a nice five days".
Despite four days of continuous rain.
