Tartous-Sana
Young artist Rana Abdel Hamid Zarouf began her artistic journey at an early age, as her first drawings were an attempt to embody reality as it is in her imagination on paper and turn it into a vibrant painting.
Rana is an art teacher in the schools of her town, Sheikh Badr Battous, a graduate of the Institute of Handicrafts in Damascus, and a holder of an educational qualification diploma. She focused most of her interests on developing her talent and refining her art by following several art courses, after which she obtained a documented certificate in plastic arts, issued by the Ministry of Culture.
During her speech to the SANA Youth Bulletin, Zarouf indicated that she participated in several exhibitions in Safita, Safsa, Qadmous, and the Cultural Center in Tartous, embodying in her paintings many topics and important personalities. And motherhood, using various materials of ink, lead, charcoal, water, oil, burning on wood, and carving works with scalpels on walnut wood, and others.
Zaroff’s artistic passion did not stop there, as she worked in the school theater and artistic activities department by decorating several schools in the governorate with attractive paintings and drawings with their colors and ideas. She also participated with her students in many exhibitions with joint collective works in the governorate and at the level of Syria.
She pointed out that her love for art prompted her to follow courses in carving and ceramics and manufacturing candles, candlesticks and lanterns in Damascus to make simple lighting devices with beautiful designs that save electrical energy. sizes and customers' requests.
As for the lanterns, Zaroof used cardboard or wood in their manufacture, adding the desired design to it to be emptied later with a scalpel and colored in the required colors, as it participated in a recent exhibition of lanterns and candlesticks at the Elias Farhat Gallery of Fine Arts in Damascus.
Rana practices her art in her own studio, where she trains art lovers and students of faculties of art and architecture, and considers it a place where she markets her works in addition to her accounts on social networking sites.
