When it comes to Christmas lights and the Christmas market, the Neufahrner Personnel Committee has agreed on an interim solution.

Not yet.

But in Neufahrn, the personnel, social and cultural committee has now made some important decisions that set the direction for how to celebrate the pre-Christmas period in view of the uncertain corona situation and the announced energy saving.

As for the Christmas lights, the administration reported on the discussion that had taken place at the previous Northern Alliance meeting (we reported).

While the majority of municipalities want to do without Christmas lights, Ismaning will put up Christmas lights.

In Neufahrn, the committee has now decided that an interim solution will be chosen: the municipal councils unanimously rejected a "complete waiver" of Christmas lights.

After all, they have already switched to LED.

There is no Christmas lighting on one street

But because the Christmas lights are basically linked to the street lighting, you can't set a time limit.

Important - and that was decisive for the decision-making: The Christmas lights were only laid separately and individually in the area of ​​the market square, where you could work with a timer.

And so the committee decided with 7:4 votes to do without the Christmas lights in Bahnhofstrasse.

As a result, the majority voted to install Christmas lights on the market square and on the town hall square – including the Christmas tree.

There will also be a kind of interim solution for the Neufahrner Christkindlmarkt: While it has always been held as a one-day event since 2016, a special concept was designed for 2021 due to the pandemic situation, which ultimately fell victim to the increasing number of infections.

There was no Christmas market in 2021.

It is precisely this concept that those responsible are now pulling out of the drawer again for 2022 - in the hope that Covid-19 will not thwart the plans this time.

The core of the concept are the following points: The market will be spread out over three days (November 25th to 27th), a spatial spread will be limited to around 20 lockable wooden stalls.

The participants are obliged to carry out all possible saving measures.

This concept, which it is hoped can be implemented in 2022, was unanimously approved by the committee.
