The SPD relies on proven forces in state and district elections.
Oberhausen – "I've had enough!" With these words, with which Dominik Streit opened his nomination speech, he did not announce his retirement from politics.
On the contrary: he wants to get even more involved with the people he sees being let down by the current Bavarian government.
What is currently being done by the CSU and Free Voters is not enough for him.
He sees deficits in the fact that there is not enough affordable housing for everyone, too few teachers and no functioning local public transport.
SPD candidate dispute: social is "what is good for people"
Streit promises to support the communities in the construction of inexpensive rental apartments and space-saving terraced houses.
In order to remedy the lack of educational staff and teachers, Streit wants free training, better pay and secure employment.
If you fire salaried teachers before the summer holidays and then offer them a job somewhere else, it shouldn't come as a surprise that there is a shortage of teachers.
In order to enable people without a car to participate in life in rural areas, Streit calls for the expansion of train and bus connections.
According to Streit, social is “what is good for people”.
Politicians have to keep people in mind.
With this in mind, the price of energy must now be capped quickly.
With 53 out of 56 votes, the 39-year-old, who recently moved from Weilheim to Peiting and had already been a candidate for the state parliament in 2018, was nominated as a candidate for the Weilheim constituency, which also includes the northern district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Streit's reaction to the result: "Let's get on with it, the election campaign is starting now."

SPD candidate Asam is committed to better funding for the districts that are primarily responsible for social affairs
There was also only one candidate for the district council: Michael Asam.
The 69-year-old from Peitinger has more than 30 years of experience in local and district politics and is regarded as a veteran of social democracy in the district.
Among other things, he advocates better financing of the districts, which are primarily responsible for social affairs.
There are deficits, among other things, in psychiatric care in the Weilheim-Schongau district.
Homelessness is also a problem.
In southern Bavaria, 14,000 people are currently living on the streets.

Asam, deputy president of the district council, was elected candidate for the district council by 51 of the 56 delegates who came to the constituency conference at the “Stroblwirt” in Oberhausen.
