The SPD in the Starnberg constituency has determined its candidates for election next autumn.

District chairwoman Christiane Feichtmeier wants to be in the state parliament.

District

– The SPD in the district has set the course for the state and district elections in autumn next year and determined the candidates for constituency 129.

Christiane Feichtmeier is running again for the state parliament, Selina Rieger for the district council.

The aim is, of course, to replace the CSU and the Free Voters as governing parties - which is why the SPD is also working on an election program known as a "government program".

Ronja Endres, co-chair of the Bavarian SPD, got the comrades, 41 delegates and some guests in the mood for the election campaign in Gilching on Saturday.

The SPD has defined cornerstones for its success, and the federal election campaign has shown that it can work: an early start, a program - which is currently being developed with over 120 associations and soon with broad participation from the party base - an exciting campaign with an appealing Material, young and experienced candidates and the belief that the SPD can do it.

The selection of candidates went smoothly.

Christiane Feichtmeier, chief inspector, district chairwoman and district councillor, was voted almost unanimously with two abstentions, according to a statement from the district SPD, as a candidate for the state parliament in the constituency, which also includes communities at the southern end of Lake Starnberg.

She wants to work in the state parliament, above all, for the people who work in care and education.

They are in short supply in the district, what is needed is performance-related pay, different working conditions, better development opportunities and an apartment that they can afford.

And they need efficient public transport, not everyone can or wants to afford a car.

The discrimination of so-called women's jobs in terms of pay, but also in terms of appreciation must come to an end.

The public service must also receive more attention again.

The police and administration step in when there is an emergency, as the Corona period has shown.

Student running for district council

Selina Rieger, a student of special education, wants to move into the district assembly via the direct mandate for the same constituency.

She is currently experiencing the shortcomings of the educational system in day care centers and schools in various internships.

"At the age of 20, the Gilchinger municipal councilor has already gained a lot of experience in voluntary helper groups and knows what she is talking about.

The equal participation of people with disabilities in all areas of society, from school and the world of work to culture and sport, is an essential element of a democratic state for the prospective teacher.

People with mental disabilities in particular need support," says the SPD statement.

Culture and its protagonists are also important to her.

She knows their precarious situation from her own family, especially during the pandemic.

The delegates were rewarded for their committed statement with a unanimous vote for the district assembly candidacy.
