District – The Bavaria-wide "Long Night of the Fire Brigades" was a complete success in the district of Fürstenfeldbruck, despite the autumnal weather.

At nine locations, citizens had the opportunity to experience the work of the fire brigades live and, unlike an open house, in the evening and at night.

Dedication of two new emergency vehicles

The first to start was the Geiselbullach fire brigade, which had two new emergency vehicles inaugurated in the afternoon as part of an ecumenical service.

Mayor Andreas Magg symbolically handed over the vehicles to the fire brigade.

Later it continued with a car accident simulation and hands-on stations.

Participation campaigns in Olching and Esting

In Olching and Esting there was also a large crowd of visitors and "participation" was the order of the day. Among other things, the Olching fire brigade showed a fat explosion that occurs when burning liquids are extinguished with water.

In Gernlinden there was a torch hike for the children through the dark tool shed and anyone who wanted to was allowed to learn more about first aid or crawl through the training course for breathing apparatus wearers.

The Maisach fire brigade presented its new turntable ladder and celebrated with music until midnight.

In Althegnenberg, Egenhofen, Mammendorf and Türkenfeld, too, visitors could experience cut-up cars and blue light storms or have the various equipment explained to them.

Many sign up as new members

"It was interesting that almost all of the participating fire departments reported potentially new active firefighters who were interested in membership," says District Fire Chief Ric Unteutsch.

There are also new members in the youth fire brigades and new applicants for the children's fire brigade in Mammendorf.

The joint action of the fire brigades and the Bavarian State Fire Brigade Association took place for the first time throughout Bavaria.
