The Syrian company for the manufacture of grapes in Sweida announced the continuity of work to receive the juicy grape crop from farmers, during the holidays specified between the sixth and ninth of this month.
The company’s general manager, Fadi Choucair, said in a statement to SANA reporter today that the company is ready to receive the crop during the holidays, especially with the continuation of the supply operations to it by farmers, as the quantities received to date have reached about 4800 tons, which is significantly more than the same period from Last season, about 2,845 tons were received.
Choucair indicated that the company has transferred, to date, 4.5 billion pounds, to the account of the Farmers' Union in the Commercial Bank, to be disbursed to farmers, in return for the prices of the juicy grapes supplied by them to the company, while continuing to transfer additional amounts in the coming days.
On the 4th of last September, the Syrian company for the manufacture of grapes in As-Suwayda began marketing the juicy grape crop from farmers, at prices of 1,000 pounds per kilogram for white grapes and 1,200 pounds for black grapes.
