The program for this year's Weeks of Tolerance starts on October 27th.

The motto this time is "Solidarity".

Grafing – "Solidarity" is the motto of this year's Weeks of Tolerance.

On October 27th they start for the fifth time, supported by 14 cooperation partners.

"Solidarity means acting together and supporting each other," explains Andrea Splitt-Fischer, managing director of the Catholic district education center in Ebersberg.

"And we also want to give minorities more visibility with the motto."

Weeks of Tolerance: 30 events planned

30 events are planned for the weeks of tolerance until the end of November, all with a wide variety of approaches: online, face-to-face, readings, discussions, workshops, film screenings.

And the motto is also approached from very different angles: poverty, war, racism or feminism are just a few of the approaches.

"It's a broad potpourri of very different topics," says Splitt-Fischer.

The kick-off event on October 27 already offers a wide spectrum: the face-to-face event will also be offered as a live stream.

The artists have planned a stage program that includes a reading, concert elements and a discussion.

Gianni Jovanovic will present his book "I, a child of a small majority" there, in which he describes his eventful life as a Roman in Germany.

Solidarity: offering a platform to people who are excluded

This is also a point of solidarity, explains Splitt-Fischer: to offer people who are excluded a platform "and to draw attention to the fact that exclusion also happens in our society".

A special event is also the solidarity campaign "One Million Stars" by Caritas, where a sea of lights is to be created from candles - there is also food prepared by the refugees who are in consultation with Caritas.

Event: "FrauenArt"

"WomenArt.

When flight becomes colour" offers refugee women space to exchange ideas.

On the International Day against Violence against Women, the meeting café opens its doors and exhibits the pictures that the women drew to process their traumatic experiences.

There will also be an event for parents.

"It's about providing information, but about providing information that is appropriate for children," says Splitt-Fischer.

Weeks of Tolerance: Free events

As in previous years, all events are free of charge this year.
